Explore the Inspiration Behind the Art
I’m thrilled to announce my debut solo exhibition, Shadows of Resilience, taking place at Gallery 3 in Cavanbah (Byron Bay) on Bundjalung Country. The exhibition opens with a special launch event from 5-7pm on Friday, November 8, and will be on display from November 8 to November 22, open from Wednesday to Sunday, 3-5pm. Come say hi! I’ll be there each day the show is open to the public to answer any questions you might have.
If you’re interested in handmade ceramics in Byron Bay or you’re searching for unique original ceramics for your home or as a gift, this exhibition will offer an exclusive chance to explore my latest work. The pieces in Shadows of Resilience include intricate vessels, floral arrangements, and sculptural forms that speak to the beauty of the earth’s natural elements. Using techniques like hand-forming and natural textures, I aim to bring the outdoors indoors and reflect on the cycle of life and the delicate balance between nature and human existence.
The launch event on Friday, November 8, 2024 will be an intimate gathering where I’ll be available to share insights into my artistic process and the stories behind each piece. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments, meet other art enthusiasts, and take a first look at the collection.
As a ceramic artist living and working on Bundjalung Country, my work draws inspiration from the natural environment that surrounds me, especially the interplay between fragility and resilience. My exhibition, Shadows of Resilience, explores these themes in a collection of hand-formed ceramic pieces that reflect the delicate yet enduring beauty of nature. Each artwork invites viewers to contemplate the fragility of the natural world and the strength that can be found within it.
